Those who read this post are very likely all too familiar with the definition of the term rainbow baby, but I found a post that answered it well on BCC, and I wanted to share it here.
It is understood that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of any storm. When a rainbow appears, it does not mean that the storm never happened or that we are not still dealing with its aftermath. It means that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover, but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope.
Graice will forever be our first born. We will love her and honor her memory for the rest of our lives. The clouds of her absence will always linger, but we hope to see our rainbow in the form of this little Jellybean.

Beautifully put. Congratulations on your rainbow Susan!
What a beautiful meaning of a rainbow...
whenever i think about trying for our rainbow, i feel the tiniest bit guilty toward kenny. so many people seem to think we should wait a certain amount of time (a year?), but i can't stand the thought. we both feel too old and it was extremely difficult to get pregnant in the first place. waiting will not bring kenny back and will not make us parents any sooner. i NEED to be a mother.
